- I get it regularly, it's a problem if you have problems with the
- serial line. My HD interface unfortunately causes a certain amount of
- interference with the serial line, and while I can reduce errors to
- a minimum I can't avoid them completely.

- Try:

- 1. Using a fast serial device driver such as 8n1.device or v34serial.device,
- these have lower overheads than serial.device and so tend to cause
- less problems if other hardware is interfering

- 2. Using a low bandwidth screen, ie a 2 bitplane one or lower, while
- you download - I think again this is to do with reducing hardware
- overheads

- 3. Not running anything in the background. UUCP 0.10 doesn't run UUXQT
- in the background fortunately [later versions do] but anything that
- uses up significant amounts of CPU time and/or disk activity might
- cause problems.
